Drew Kaiser is a Wisconsin-based professional photographer. He developed his passion for writing with light in high school in the late nineties. He has professionally captured images since 2004 when he opened darkroom 201 (a short-lived community darkroom in Eau Claire’s Banbury Place) with business partner Tim Fitch. Shortly thereafter they formed iris photographics (and an affinity for uncapitalized proper nouns).
Drew received a Comprehensive BA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography from the University of Wisconsin — Eau Claire in 2010. He cut his teeth with journalistic work at Volume One and has since been featured in Rolling Stone, USA Today, TimeOut, and several other publications of varying scales. Drew has documented hundreds of weddings, countless seniors, families, and commercial clients.
When not behind the lens, Drew is also a professional beekeeper and candlemaker whose products can be found at kaiserson.com. He started kaiserson in 2014 with his wife, Ellen, to spread the gospel of good insects. He’s an avid gardener, a maple syruper, an audiophile, and a dog lover. He took third in his middle-school geography bee and ever since has enjoyed traveling, exploring, and not getting lost.
